Growing Up

Life is changing so much lately. We moved to Utah and I am almost graduated. Since we are now in Provo, I decided to walk at graduation before student teaching. I got to be the first class to graduate in the BYU-Idaho center. If you didn't know, that is the new building on campus that has been under construction for the past 3 years. It is the size of the conference center in Salt Lake and is absolutely beautiful.

It was very fun to feel like I was done with school, then I remembered I still had to do student teaching. . .  I was pretty nervous about it at first. Worried I would not get a cooperating teacher who I saw eye to eye with,  having students who were very hard to deal with, being so busy I couldn't breathe. Well I am happy to say I LOVE it! my cooperating teacher is amazing! I absolutely love her! She is such a wonderful mentor for me and I am learning so much from her. The students that I was worried about, Love them also. They are so smart, so cute, and so funny. I am going to be so sad when I have to leave. A couple of precious boys in my class told me the other day that I should try to get a job in 5th grade at the school so I can be their teacher next year. The time thing that I was worried about. . . yes that i still something that is hard. I am so tired every night I could fall asleep at 8, but it is so worth it! I feel so good the days I am prepared for everything.

So for those graduation pics.
This is my grandma and grandpa Horman. (my dad's parents)
 This is my dad
And these are two of my sisters. (Melissa and Mallory)
And of course my wonderful, handsome husband Cory Lane

Ah yeah! College grad baby. . .  well in April
This is my step dad James and my mom

I love my family and I am so lucky that they support me like they do. I miss them so bad right now. I haven't seen them for about a month and a half now. I know that is not long for a lot of other people, but I am super close to my family. I have never lived far away (4 hours I know I'm a baby!) and not been able to see them when every I want. I went to college 30 minutes away from my family, so I saw them all the time. Miss you guys, so excited to see you next weekend!

TIME WHERE DO YOU GO?

I can't believe it is already mid January! Usually Januarys drag their feet and never seem to end, but this year we are so super busy I cant get it to stay. Christmas was so fun, and it still seems like yesterday. We went to Arizona with Cory's family, and had a blast in the warmish weather. Though I did miss my family this year. It was the first Christmas I have not seen them. Cory got me a new camera for Christmas so hopefully I can be a more dedicated blogger with all of the fabulous pictures it takes. School has also begun for both of us, and it is a bit stressful. I am doing my student teaching in Draper, UT in a 4th grade classroom. I am loving it so much! My cooperating teacher and students are fabulous! Cory is two weeks into school, and kind of dying. . . poor guy, I feel a bit guilty that I am almost done with school. Well here are some of those fabulous pictures I was telling you about.

This is the view from our bedroom at the house we stayed in over Christmas break.

Here is a pretty sun set in AZ, by the way this year was my first  Christmas
without snow.

Adorable little niece Mis Rose, too bad there is a glare. She loved the windows
in the house.

This is my Cory Lane holding our niece Bella. She just woke up from a nap,
and he was the cutest uncle to take care of her.

Here are the nieces Crissy and Bella waiting for their lunch. . .  and naked Cinderella Barbie.

Oh man we made the best lunch ever this day, they were pizza balls. Recipe found here

All of the girls were so cute playing together. Crissy and Brinley playing dolls.

See how cute they are!

They also had fun playing under the bar chairs.

And here is my sister Melissa and Niece Sammy, they came to visit us in
our new house in Provo. Funny video of Sammy to come!

So We Found A Place To Live!!!

We are no longer going to be homeless in a month. This past weekend I went to Utah with my in-laws. My nephew Bowen was blessed on Sunday. Cory couldn't go because he had 2 tests to take this weekend. It was about an hour before we were leaving, and I found a post on craigslist. It sounded great and had everything I have been looking for. So skeptically (you would know from my previous post) I emailed the person. I left my phone number because I would not be by a computer anytime soon. The sweetest girl named Melissa called me back within the hour. We went and saw the place Saturday, signed a contract Monday and we are good to go. I can't believe how seamlessly everything worked out. Obviously I need to be more patient, because there is a bigger picture and a plan for us. So we will be moving out the weekend of graduation, which will be interesting, and moving in the following Monday. If you didn't catch that, I'm GRADUATING! :) excited beyond words. If you would like to see our new place click here. It is a little town house, the brick. . .  (foe brick :) one on the end closest to you.

I HATE SCAMMERS!!!

Ok so I have had at least 3 people try to scam me on Craigslist. I am so sick of it! I think i have finally found the perfect place to live after hours and weeks and months of searching, so I email the person who posted the perfect place on craigslist. Come to find out it is some guy in Nygeria who says I have to send him $1400 and he will mail me the keys and documentation. Or another guy who says I have to fill out a credit check and give him all of my personal information before he will give me his phone number or the address to the place because last time it got vandalized. SO ANNOYING! So to all of those scam artists out there, GET A REAL JOB I HATE YOU! And hello have you ever googled yourself? other people posted the same email that you sent to me.  Anyway now that I ranted I feel a bit better. I do love my life ha I swear, I just hate trying to find somewhere to live.

Enough complaining, here are some good things in my life. I have the most wonderful husband in the world! He did all of our dishes last night because I was too tired and lazy :) Also I bought Catching Fire and Mocking Jay so I can finish the Hunger Games series. I was actually reading last night, that is why he did the dishes instead of me. I read the first book about 3 weeks ago and then I couldn't find the other two in Rexburg. I went to Sam's Club last night and they had both! They are so good. Another great thing is that Thanksgiving is coming up! I love thanksgiving. Also school is flying by so that means only 5 more weeks of my college career and then I am DONE! Well not technically, if you count student teaching, but i surely do not. I won't even be on campus for it, and I am walking at graduation in December.

October Gone Already!

Cory's delicious Oreo ice cream cake!
Adorable little Sammy right after we cleaned the hand full of whip cream off of her, she has quick sneaky little hands!
Delicious peach fruit leather in the making, Yummy!
This one is last year's pumpkin, but the timing is right. We threw our pumpkin away already this year because it was on on one of the tables for our ward party. . . enough said.

October went by so fast! Cory's day of birth was on the 1st and it seems like yesterday. I absolutely love fall and it is freezing into winter way too fast for my liking. I love the fall colors, the fall cents, the cookies, the hot cocoa, carving pumpkins, and so many more things but especially Thanksgiving! I also really love Christmas so that is the next thing to look forward to. I am pretty sad that we will be moving in December because I won't set up our tree this year :( I love our tree it is so cute! Also we will be in Arizona for Christmas this year, that will be interesting, my first Christmas without snow.  We have been so busy. I swear the only thing I have been thinking about is that I still have nowhere to live in Provo. We are moving in December.  There is one potential prospect. We were the 3rd people to respond to a Craigslist post that was online for 1 day. It is a super cute condo that is really nice and affordable, and super close to campus. We are waiting to see if there is still a chance for us. The manager is going in the order he received the applications. So I am praying that it doesn't work out for the other two people ;) We have both been super busy with school this month, so there has not been too much time for blogging. I registered for student teaching today, so it is official, Next semester is my LAST semester of school!! I am excited beyond words. We have been trying to spend as much time with family as possible with our families before we move, we will miss them so much. I have been privileged to see a lot of my little niece Sammy who is seriously the cutest thing! I love her to death. We will miss our parents and my siblings, and of course everyone else we will be leaving like grandparents. I know it is only 4 hours away, but you have to realize I have only lived outside of Idaho once in my life and it was only for one summer, I am kind of a baby. I have a bunch of pictures to post, but my camera is not cooperating. . .  so next time. Oh I think I just got it to work. So here are some pictures of the adventures over the last few months.

Harry Potter

So I just finished the 6th Harry Potter book! I tried to read them all over our summer break, but that didn't quite happen. I have to admit that I did not read much my first few years of college, but Harry Potter has renewed my love. It is hard to get yourself to do something for enjoyment, when it is the only thing you are doing for 3-5 hours a day for classes. Harry Potter has a very soft little spot in my heart! I found myself in sacrament meeting imagining the speaker with a wand to his throat like Ludo Bagman projecting his voice, I had to laugh for a second. I wish so bad that it were real. Though that world is not real, I find myself comparing it to our world. There are so many truths, and things to be learned about good and evil. J.K. is a brilliant woman! I am about to start the 7th book right now and get a few chapters in before I go to bed. In a way it makes me a bit sad that I am at the end of my Harry Potter journey. Series are so great! I will just have to find something else intriguing to read next, and someday in the future I will have to snuggle up on the couch with Harry again, and lie there for hours in a world of imagination.

Saturday Morning

Cory and I have been married for about 22 months, and I am just starting our blog. I had one started last September, but I never got it up and going. We just started our Fall semester in Rexburg Idaho, and Fall is definitely in the air. The days are still pretty warm, but the nights are getting really cold!
Today is the first official Saturday of the semester. (since we started on a Thursday, I didn't count the last one) This is my last semester of school YEAH! I am studying Elementary Education, so I still have to do student teaching, but I am going to march at graduation in December. I am going to do my student teaching in Utah though because Cory is transferring to BYU. He is studying Chemical Engineering and they do not offer that here at BUY-Idaho. We are so excited to move in December. It will be a fun new adventure for us, but we will also miss our families very much! Mostly mine because a lot of Cory's family now lives in Utah.
